Sorting gate – on demand
Individualised feeding of homogeneous groups
At the sorting gates, all of the pigs are measured individually and can then be split up and assigned to two or more feeding groups according to the defined criteria.
An integrated weighing system developed by TEWE subsidiary TELL can be added to the sorting gate. According to their individual weight, the animals are recorded, automatically sorted via the gate, and then fed individually in the eating area. This allows the animals to be fattened at the same rate, avoiding large weight differences within the group.
The animals are identified by their RFID ear tags. The automatic detection of the animals means their subsequent sale can be planned with greater certainty thanks to reliable data:
No false estimates: Purely visual weight estimations are excluded.
Automatic sorting: Once the animals reach slaughter weight, they are automatically selected.
Documentation: Every single animal is monitored multiple times a day and the gathered data is documented centrally in a feeding computer. Analyses and intelligent processes can be initiated.
TEWE’s CAN bus control technology is the perfect accompaniment to the automated technology: individual monitoring and checks, customised feeding, automation of the feed rations and feed curve for each group, as well as durable technology and stable automation technology.
In conclusion
The sorting gate is an efficient solution for homogeneous group formation and individualised feeding of pigs. With precise weighing, automatic sorting and detailed documentation, it enables optimal fattening and provides a reliable foundation of data for decision-making. The integration of modern technologies such as RFID and CAN bus ensure reliable and durable automation of the sorting gate.
Benefits
-
Homogeneous group formation: The sorting gate allows the pigs to be precisely split up into homogeneous groups in line with defined criteria, which causes them to fatten at the same rate.
-
Individualised feeding: Automatic sorting and allocation allow the pigs to be fed on an individual basis according to their weight and other criteria.
-
Precise weighing: The integrated weighing system precisely weighs each animal to provide reliable data for feeding and sale, and avoid false estimates.
-
Automatic sorting: Pigs who reach slaughter weight are automatically selected, making the fattening process more efficient.
-
Detailed documentation: The sorting gate enables continuous monitoring and documentation of every single animal, providing a reliable body of data for analysis and process optimisation.
